Happiness Is Homemade Link Party of the Week

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #280

Welcome to our party!  What a great link party we had last week, and now we are ready for the next one.

Our weather has been so hot and humid for our region that we’ve been trying to find family activities that keep us cool.  Movies, swimming and air-conditioned library visits have been high on our list lately 🙂

What has your weather been like lately?

I am so excited for you to see my featured posts this week, and congratulations to those bloggers for their great content!

This week’s features for Happiness Is Homemade #280

I personally did not purchase anything during Prime Day on Amazon last week, but I know that many people don’t take advantage of all the neat things that come with their membership.  This post from Jennifer Lambert at A Sacred Balance explains it all – How To Get the Most from Amazon Prime.

About a week ago I took the kids out and picked 22 pounds of fresh cherries – dirt cheap and so easy to pick!  Look at this amazing looking recipe from Flour on My Face for Sweet Cherry Preserves, I’ll be making this for sure!

I love making sweet treats to take to picnics, parties and gatherings.  These Mini Oreo Cheesecakes from A Labour of Life look so tasty – not to mention easy to take on-the-go!

As we get ready for our big family trip to Disney at the end of August, I keep hearing SO many good things about their pineapple dole whip.  Apparently it is iconic. In preparation for how much I am going to love this Disney treat, I found this Copycat Dole Pineapple Whip recipe.  Any dole whip experts out there?  Try this recipe and let us know what you think.
We have a very tall, wide and empty wall behind our TV in the family room.  I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to decorate it with some shelving, pictures, etc.  But I found this awesome tutorial with instructions on How To Create Your Own Multi Panel Split Canvas Print from Drugstore Divas – I think I found the perfect decor!
Please check out my featured posts and leave a comment – bloggers love it when you leave feedback!  Be sure to also Pin, Share or bookmark any posts you are interested in so you can reference them later.

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #279!  I hope you enjoyed last week’s party and my features – I really enjoyed Pinning so many of the awesome posts our bloggers had to share!

Now that my kids have been out of school for a solid two weeks, I’m trying to come up with ideas and projects to keep them occupied.  We’re also doing quite a bit of traveling to visit family out of town.

How has your summer been so far?

Are you ready to check out my featured posts?  Without further ado…

This week’s features for Happiness Is Homemade #279

Check out this INCREDIBLE looking Lemon Ombre Layer Cake with Lemon Curd Filling from Bird’s Party – I love lemon in the summer and I think ombre is such a beautiful effect!

Do you have some pavers or perhaps brick that need updating?  Check out this DIY Painted Brick Pavers project from So Much Better With Age – I think it takes a floor to the next level!

Sooooooooo we just picked 30 lbs. of strawberries last week – yeah that’s a lot, I know.  I kept about 4 lbs. fresh in the refrigerator for a few quick baking treats and the rest directly into the freezer for making FREEZER JAM later on.  BUT just in case I need another idea, how about these 100 Strawberry Recipes from Attachment Mummy to use as a reference – I can’t be the only one out there with all those berries to use!
One of my favorite popsicles from when I was a kid was the orange creamsicle, so I HAD to feature this Over the Top Orange Creamsicle Milkshake recipe from Food Wine Sunshine.  It looks SOOOOOOOOOO refreshing and dreamy!
I love having pretty lighting around my patio to enjoy in the evening.  This DIY Wooden Lanterns with Solar Lights from Kippi At Home would be a great project for practicing using power tools.

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #278

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #278!  My name is Katie from Love My Messy Messy Blog and I am so excited to be the hostess for the month of July.

My day job as an orchestra teacher keeps me busy during the school near, but now it is summer break and I am so ready to get some house projects done!

Special thanks to Carol from Bluesky At Home for hosting through May and June – she did a fabulous job!  Make sure to give her a visit at her fun blog!

Now, on to the features……(drumroll)

This weeks features for Happiness Is Homemade #278

The first feature I chose immediately reminded me of the delicious yet naughty treats we get ever year at our local rodeo.  Click to get the recipe for these Air Fryer Cinnamon Churro Bites with Caramel Sauce from Robin at Fluster Buster.
Even though the 4th of July is over, we still have Labor Day in September to keep our red, white & blue up for.  I may try making this Whitewash Barn Star from Simply Designing to feature on a shelf.

One of my favorite books from my childhood was Anne of Green Gables, and sure enough the writers from Undo Adoption went on a vacation and shared pictures from their Anne of Green Gables Literary Tour.
I feel like Big Brother is listening – I was just saying how I want to find a way to make some neat little planters for some succulents.  Enter Pillar Box Blue and her post on How To Make Repurposed Planters for Succulents.  I love how bright and cheerful these turned out!
Lastly, I think we could ALL use this little helper in our house – a DIY Ironing Board & Iron Holder!  Hannah from Handmade Weekly included clear and easy building plans and everything, love this little project!
I had SUCH A HARD TIME picking only 5 features – there were so many incredible posts from last week’s party!  But I hope you like the ones I did pick, be sure to give them a visit and leave them some love.

With 4th of July less than a week away, we are all about celebrating the red, white and blue. This week’s link party is my last to hostess for quite awhile. I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting your amazing creativity. Katie of Love My Messy Messy Mess takes over hostessing duties for July.

So, have a wonderful 4th of July, be safe, fly your flag, and enjoy this week’s features.

My blog hopping friend Jenna from The Painted Apron has created an awesome 4th of July lobsterfest themed tablescape that would be so fun to spend a meal at with friends.

You know I love home decor and DIY projects, and I love it even more when it is custom~created. Stefanie of the Stylish Safari remodeled her powder bath in blue and whites (another reason to love it!). I loved her DIY tutorial on how to design your own wallpaper.

I couldn’t resist the amazing sewing creations from Bev at Flamingo Toes. Her custom bags and totes are so adorable.

You know when a picture of a dish looks delicious and all the ingredients in the dish are your favorites, you know the recipe has to be good. This pretty Mozzarella Strawberry and Olive Salad from Claire Justine looks so fresh and colorful and I love all the ingredients.

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party

Hello and welcome to Happiness is Homemade Link Party 276.  Our lovely spring and early June turned into a hot, humid mess this week. It was a good time to spend the afternoons inside scrolling through all the wonderful ideas everyone has shared.

My older daughter and granddaughters arrived on Wednesday, my son and son~in~law flew in for the weekend on Friday, so we have had a full house, lots of wet beach towels, bowls of cereal, popsicle sticks, and a grand time. The girls stay through Friday and we have lots of activities planned.

Hope you are enjoying your summer and love sharing your favorite projects with us here at Happiness is Homemade.

I love all the wonderful projects and home and gardening decor that you share each week. I also have included one of my favorite recipes for you. I wanted you to know that besides the 5 features each week, I share another 4 or 5 each Saturday on my weekly newsletter. If you would like to receive it, just link to it here.

Happiness is Homemade Weekly Features

Since we spend so much more time outside in the summer, we want our outdoor spaces to be welcoming, comfortable and pretty. I know, because we just did a patio update. Jenn at Clean and Scentsible is sharing some great ways to add style and comfort to your backyard patio.

Our front yards are just as important as our backyards. They are our welcome mat to friends and neighbors. Stephanie at Abbotts at Home offers 12 ideas for spiffing up your curb appeal.

DIY planter

I love to use mason jars in my home decor. In fact, I just did a post on how to tint mason jars (see in the links below). Linda at It All Started with Paint shared this darling DIY painted mason jar.

I don’t know about you, but I have a problem with dryer sheets. I love this idea from Salvage Sister and Mister for making easy reusable dryer sheets.

This one had me at cake, chocolate and Texas. This classic sheet cake recipe has been around for years and I’m so glad that NancyC shared it again. It never gets old.

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade Link Party 275 and Happy Father’s Day to our fathers, step~dads, grandfathers, hubbies, sons, uncles, nephews, brothers, and sons~in~law. Whether he is a dad, daddy, papa, pepaw, granddad or granddaddy, we honor the men in our lives.

My hat is off to all the amazing talent that creates and shares each week. Whether your passion lies in crafting, cooking, or home decor, it is mind boggling what we can produce week after week. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

And speaking of sharing, I have 2 more weeks of being your hostess. I’d love to know what YOU would like to have featured. What subject matter do you want to see featured during the rest of June? So, please put your choice ~ DIY, home decor, recipes, entertainment, tablescapes, travel ~ into the comments. I’ll be reading!!

Happiness is Homemade graphic

By the way, it is really hard it is to select features each week. Even if you are not featured, know that we are visiting, pinning and sharing.

Happiness is Homemade Link Party 275

We have reached HIH Link Party 275 ~ a milestone of sorts, don’t you think? Let’s celebrate with some awesome features. Usually, I include at  least one recipe, but the DIY projects this week just blew me away. So this week’s features are all about creativity, resourcefulness, and making our homes pretty and practical.

Happiness is Homemade Weekly Features

I love homes, touring homes, designing homes, looking at homes; this very pretty updated neutral and gray living room from Linda at It All Started with Paint is so peaceful and soothing. What a beautiful setting to inspire.

I don’t know about you, but I have dreams, yes, dreams, of redoing and updating our master closet. Michelle of The Scrape Shoppe Blog shared several great ideas and I literally went down the rabbit hole reading and drooling (figuratively speaking) over all these closet makeovers.

Still thinking about 4th of July in a few weeks, I thought this DIY wood flag was one of the best patriotic DIY projects: simple, quick, inexpensive, and so impactful. Thanks to Ann of Apple Street Cottage for a sharing your creativity.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a different in our home decor. Trish of Uncommon Designs added a little embellishment to a woven basket as part of an Anthropology~Inspired woven basket blog hop hack that had a big impact. Disclaimer: I was part of that blog hop and had seen Trish’s basket. I was so pleased that she shared it here at HIH.

Who wishes you had more storage space, especially in your laundry room? I thought so; everyone. Well, Hannah of Handmade Weekly came up with a great IKEA hack for adding more storage in that tiny space between your washer and dryer. It’s an easy DIY and she gives great instructions.

Welcome to the Happiness Is Homemade Link Party!

We are now into the second week of June and as the saying goes, “it’s busting out all over”. The flowers are really bursting with blooms and the flower beds and planters are filling in. We are enjoying our updated backyard before it gets too unbearably hot. Hope you are getting settled into summer, too.

Outdoor dining is made more lovely with this blue and white summer tablescape from Yvone from Stone Gable. She shares lots of great tips.
