So you have an artificial Christmas tree displayed in your house and you aren’t quite ready to put it away? Make it into a Valentine Tree! Deck that tree out with Valentine’s Day ornaments, lights and garlands and you won’t have to put it away quite yet.
I had never thought of redecorating my tree but I am notorious for keeping my tree up way beyond the commonly accepted date in early January. One year it was still up for the Super Bowl! So, I was visiting a doctor’s office this week and discovered that they had redecorated their Christmas tree. It is now a Valentine tree! What a fun idea. I liked it so much, I took these pictures to show you.
Redecorating your holiday tree to reflect a Valentine theme is easy. You just need new ornaments. Whether or not you go all out and change the lights to pink is all up to you. This blog contains affiliate links. ♥
How To Make A Valentine Tree
In looking around online for Valentine ornaments, lights and garlands, there is much to choose from. Of course, making heart shaped DIY ornaments is a wonderful option, too. Your kids will love it!
Supplies For A Valentine Tree
Valentine skirt for the bottom of the tree*
*If you don’t like the tree skirts made for Valentine’s Day, get some fabric or a table cloth that strikes your fancy and just drape it around the base of the tree.
While I was browsing around in search of decorations for an artificial fir tree, I discovered that there are some very classy ornament-hanging trees that you can get to place on a table for display, such as the one above made by Lenox.
There is even a tree that comes with its own Valentine ornaments. Doesn’t get any easier than that!

A friend of mine decorates her tree every year for Valentine’s day and Easter and Halloween 😉 I think it’s a really fun idea and her kids love seeing the tree up all year.

Now that is ambitious. Does she have to dust it? LOL

I thought it was, too. Mine is still up but it is disguised as a Christmas tree! My goal is to have it down by the Super Bowl! LOL

My late husband was told he had little time to live on Dec 15. So after Christmas we kept the tree up. We did a new theme each month. Our adopted grandson (8) and his have sister (6) had good ideas each month looking up what was important that month. They drew and hand made things to put on it until he passed late aug.
we kept the things so if they ever want to use them again they can.
This is a good idea for hospice.
Thank you ladies.

My son passed in July 2017 at age 23 . We did crafts together and he helped me lead a support group for kids that’s lost loved ones to illness.
He was teaching his three old daughter and seven year old step daughter the love of act and and crafting as well. Now I work with them to carry it on so they’ll love act as he did.
I hoping to write a memory book of him and things he did silly and good for her to have to remember him by.
He had the at the parks and build then cardboard castles, I could go on and on.
But thank you for the kind words. Judy
