So, pretty much all of us have at least one television in our home in this day and age. But many of us don’t really take advantage of the full range of capabilities that our televisions give us. We go to the trouble to buy that fifty inch HD LCD flat screen TV but we don’t really make use of it, other than to watch a few TV programs. Even heavy TV viewers don’t truly make full use of their screens. Let’s take a look at several accessories that allow us to take full advantage of our awesome new televisions.
Antennas
Sure, satellite and cable are pretty nifty, not going to lie. But for those of us who don’t necessarily want to take on the often-times steep monthly costs and long term commitment that these plans often require, there is the option of a good, reliable TV antenna which can get you access to the range of TV programs and channels that are available over the air in your local area. Don’t worry, there’s Netflix and Hulu for the other stuff you might be missing.
Regardless of the uses you make of your television, you’re going to want some good quality sound. This means that you’re going to want some high quality speakers. Often times the default speakers that come with your TV are ok in quality, but there’s almost never any comparison to a dedicated speaker system. There’s a lot of variability in the systems and a lot of factors to consider, and everyone has their favourite brand or company, so you’ll just have to do your research on this one, but trust me, it’s worth the effort.
We talked about HDMI before, so you know what it does already. But frankly, I hate a mess of cables stringing from my devices and I am sure most of you do too. They get tangled, make a mess, you have to reach behind your device if you need to replace it or plug in a new device which can be a painful hassle depending on the location of your device… You get the picture. Well, with a wireless HDMI device, you only need one actual HDMI cable and any of your devices that can connect to your wireless network can now wirelessly send high-def inmates through this device and onto your TV screen.
My recommendation is that all owners of expensive television sets purchase a reliable and dedicated television insurance policy such as the one I use from ProtectYourBubble.com. The reason I recommend this is that there are a lot of restrictions on the type of coverage you can actually get from your homeowners insurance company. And with a device as expensive as your nifty TV, trust me, you don’t want something to happen to it and then find out that you can’t get the coverage you need on it!
