This organizing tip works at all times but is particularly good on a Saturday when you haven’t been home all week.
There will be lots to catch up.
Like a Search and Rescue Dog is alert, be always looking for something that can be moved, or improved, without needing much time. Use your time efficiently.
It will look something like this:
- Upon waking and using the bathroom, don’t get despondent (it could be really bad) but look at the room. Do what can be done in 5 minutes to improve the surroundings. Swish the toilet clean. Wash down the tub (you’ll shine it later). Rinse the sink. Make it better in just 5 minutes.
- Strip your own bed and throw the sheets in the washer. Look around. Is there laundry that can come upstairs? Bring it up with you. Next time you are going toward the bedrooms, take it the rest of the way and PUT it away. Things are getting better already.
- After your shower, start the tasks on your checklist but be always aware of the room you are in. If something doesn’t belong there, take it closer to its destination on your way out of the room .
A little bit of effort can go a long way. While you are at it, remember to take a little time for you and your family! Life is to be enjoyed!
