Easy Rice Pilaf Recipe

Easy recipe for homemade rice pilaf #recipes #sidedishes

Rice goes with so many great dinner dishes but sometimes it can get a little boring. For a change of pace, make rice pilaf.  There are some very tasty mixes out there but it is easy super easy to make it yourself.  Here is a quick recipe for you:

Homemade Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

2 cups water

1 cup converted white rice

1/2 cup orzo pasta

2 T butter

1/2 chicken bouillon cube

Rice pilaf with orzo pasta #recipes

Directions

Pour water into a 2 quart saucepan

Bring to a boil.

Add 1/2 chicken bouillon cube, butter and rice.

Gently stir.

When it returns to a boil, reduce heat to simmer.

Simmer for 15 minutes.

Add orzo and continue simmering for an additional 10 minutes.

Fluff with a fork and serve.

Rice pilaf tastes great with Chicken French, Belgian Brisket, barbecue pork chops and so many more wonderful meals. What would YOU serve it with?

    I honestly had no idea it was that simple to make rice pilaf; we always buy the boxed mixes but I can’t help but wonder what is in them. My husband loves rice of all kinds and I try to switch it up for my kids every now and then with a bit of rice pilaf instead. Pinned.
