Of course, we are having a new blog hop today, but I did want to take a moment to recognize a national holiday. This week Americans celebrate November 11th as the day to honor our Veterans. What is a Veteran? A Veteran is every person who has or does serve in our military. Here in the USA we call it “Veteran’s Day” but it is also remembered in a number of nations as “Armistice Day.”

This is what History.com says about how the date of this holiday was selected. “Veterans Day is a U.S. legal holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars, and Veterans Day 2022 will occur on Friday, November 11. In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I, then known as “the Great War.”

Nice to know where things come from.
