Food bloggers

Who Will Be the Favorite Food Blogger #2?

Welcome to Week #2

Don’t let the number 2 fool you on this title … ALL of these food bloggers are my favorites… numbering them is just a way to tell you where we are in the process. 😉

Last week’s  premiere post in this Favorite Food Bloggers mini-series was Gina Kleinworth and her blog Yummi Haus. If you missed it, be sure to click here to start with #1!

This week I would like to introduce you to  The Kitchen Is My Playground.  The blog owner, Tracey, has a lot to tell on her “about me” page but, for introductions, here is what she says this about herself:

Hi! I’m Tracey, & I’m having fun with home cooking, one recipe at a time! A former businesswoman & teacher turned blogger & Mom, I love my latest career best. Join in the fun at The Kitchen is My Playground as I share tried-&-true recipes for the everyday home cook.

You will really want to go over to read the whole scoop about her life, including the VERY unique job her husband does (and she helps him with it.)  He is a beekeeper!!!  🐝🐝🐝

.

.

I first came across Tracey’s luscious recipes through my blog parties (Wonderful Wednesday and Happiness is Homemade.) Every week, as I would browse the posts our guest bloggers had shared, invariably hers were the ones that drew my attention first.  After a while I made it a game:  “Let me see.  Is this one from The Kitchen is My Playground? Yep! Thought so!”

Her food photos are so enticing — like in a professional culinary magazine.  And, though her blog does have lots of variety, her many recipe choices appeal to my sweet tooth – desserts!

So, here are just two of her amazing recipes for you to click over to get the full recipe.  Remember to pin them for future use, while you are there. 😉

One of her “Readers’ Favorites:”

See what I mean?  Wait till you get over to her website and see all the recipes!  When you do, why don’t you let me know in the comments here recipes you found there that you really like!

🌟Well, if you haven’t read week #1 then the sentiments behind why I am doing this little series bears repeating. ..

Bloggers work so hard at their craft and are often under appreciated.  We host blog parties here at Ducks ‘n a Row twice a week to help everyone boost their traffic a bit and hopefully gain some new faithful followers.  Whether a blog is 100% food focused or a mixture, everybody has to eat!  I wanted to pick a few of my all-time favorite food blogs to share with you to show my appreciation for their dedication.

Tracey, by the way, has been blogging since 2011.  That is one year after I started this blog!  She is another one who tried it, liked it and stayed with it.  ☺️ Thanks, Tracey, for sharing your love for cooking with the world! 🌎

Next week:  Skinny Taste!

My Favorite Food Bloggers and Many Fond Memories

The very first time I posted on my blog, Ducks ‘n a Row, was January 9, 2012 and my post was entitled “Meatballs – A Delicious Warm-Me-Up Meal for a Cold Winter’s Night.” I shared my very user-friendly recipe just the way I made it at home, including jarred spaghetti sauce. The recipe won’t win any awards but I was excited to learn how to get it up and online for the public! To me, it was quite an achievement.

.

My story…

You see, I was so new to blogging, I had just barely discovered what a blog was!  🤣 Prior to that I was working as an administrator in a school and writing parttime for a parenting magazine.  A friend suggested I start a blog to try to earn some extra cash and my reply was “What’s a blog?”  It was a complete unknown to me. But I tried it, and I liked it!  And, yes, it took a very long while but I eventually began to make money. (The first time I earned anything it was $.16. You read that right.  SIXTEEN CENTS!  I was so thrilled, you’d think it was $16oo.00 dollars!  My husband just shook his head wondering what his crazy wife could possibly be thinking but, it gave me hope!)

Over the years, I have made friends with other bloggers. Some are no longer blogging;  many are! And, not to hurt anybody’s feelings, I have developed some favorites.

.

My favorite bloggers

There are a some longtime bloggers that I have developed a special attachment to.  I love their professionalism and their warmth.

Just recently I was excited to see a few of them started to show up at my blog parties, following long absences.  When I saw that they had essentially “come back home,” it occurred to me that I would really like to introduce them to you. ❤️ I think you will agree that their blogs are excellent and I hope that you will like them enough to follow them wherever you can.

That being said, I am selecting just a few of my favorite veteran FOOD bloggers first to highlight for the next few weeks.  They all publish a lot of recipes with great pictures. I call them “Pin-worthy” images.   Some are 100% food blogging, others do a combo of food and other family-friendly topics.

.

Now introducing:  Yummi Haus!

For the first install, I’d like to introduce you to Yummi Haus.  Gina Kleinworth is the blogger and this name is a rebrand for her.  Originally her blog was called “Kleinworth & Co.”

You will see on her logo that Gina started blogging in 2008, 4 years before I did.

Yummi Haus

What Gina says about her own blog:   “Yummi Haus is all about comfort food—homestyle breakfasts, savory snacks, cozy dinners, and nostalgic treats just like grandma used to make.”    Yes, Yummi Haus features an abundance of scrumptious recipes but it also has unique DIY projects & crafts and holiday themes for your pleasure!

For a sample of what her blog has to offer,  I selected Gina’s patriotic mini-cheesecakes recipe to share with you.

See what I mean about the photography?  Gina is a real pro.  I love images that make you just want to reach out and take a bite!   I suggest that you click over to get the recipe on Gina’s website and then pin it to your favorite Pinterest board.  That way you’ll have it when you want it. I did!  Be sure to follow her on all of your social media, too.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little trip down “memory lane” and meeting my friend: Gina Kleinworth
