Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop #301

Welcome to our party!

Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop 2018

Today, we want to give a big shout-out to say “thanks” to our faithful team member, Marilyn Lesniak, of the  popular food blog “Marilyn’s Treats.“ Marilyn has hosted our party for years. This will be her last week with us.

You have got to know that Marilyn is much more than a co-host to us.  She is just one of those people who goes way beyond the call of duty to help others. She shares her blogging expertise with us freely whenever we need help.

Example: my own blog, Ducks ‘n a Row,  “blew up” last year and I unexpectedly had to quickly migrate to WP from Blogger. Marilyn took over putting each new party together for me and she also coached me as I learned my way on a new platform.  It was like teaching someone a whole new language and she so patiently answered my every question – and there were a lot of them!  To say that Marilyn has been a great friend is not even the half of it. Marilyn, you are loved, appreciated and will truly be  missed. ♥

So why is she leaving? Know that all is well with Marilyn but life’s demands have been changing and she finds it necessary to streamline things a little bit. Sadly, our blog party has to go. “Sniff” As I said, this will be Marilyn’s final week with us as a co-host.

She will  continue to host her own blog parties, create her amazing recipes and, of course,  and you will find them on her blog. And she promises to be a frequent guest at this party, for which we are very glad.

To keep up with Marilyn, sign up for her blog’s email list and you will never miss a new recipe or party.  The easy signup form is right at the top of her homepage: MARILYN’S TREATS

ANOTHER NOTE TO OUR GUESTS:  if you are accustomed to attending this party through Marilyn’s Treats, we don’t want to lose you! Be sure to follow one or more of our other co-hosts by email so that you receive reminders when our party starts! This week we are sharing our blog URL’s [below] to make it super easy for you to follow at least one of us! I would be very honored if you would join my email list as one of them. Recipe Sharing Party One Day Only!

It has been a really long time since we have had a recipe sharing party so this is the day! For one day only, we will be sharing recipes and PINNING and/or Yumming them.

Come to the Recipe Sharing Party!

The rules are very simple and the SUCCESS of this party requires TOTAL participation.  Since this is a one-time only party, I think we can do it, don’t you?

  • Share up to 2 of your favorite RECIPE posts.
  • No roundups … just one single recipe in the post.
  • Pin and/ or yum* every other recipe.
  • Promise that you will get that done by a week from the party. (Party is open all day Monday Sept 17. Get all the pins – and/or yums – done by Monday Sept. 24th.)
  • Tweet our party????  Thanks!

Come to our Recipe Sharing Party where every recipe gets pinned and/or yummed by every guest! This party is Monday Sept. 17 ONLY so do not delay! #recipes #bloggers #food Share on X

It is that simple! Note:  entries will show up in reverse order.  That way everyone gets to be seen at the top at some time or other.

*What is “yumming?”  Yummly is a recipe index website that can bring lots of traffic to recipe posts. In my personal opinion, it is second only to Pinterest for traffic when it comes to recipes. Yummly will only take SINGLE recipes. That is why we are asking that there be no roundups so that yumming will be faster and simpler.

Happiness Is Homemade Link Party

Welcome back to the Happiness is Homemade Link Party #228

I hope you had a great 4th of July if you are here in the USA. We had a lot of fun with our community’s annual Parade and Festival. With the holiday landing on a Wednesday, we here are all confused feeling like Thursday was another Monday. But it is so much fun to have another weekend after the 4th to spend with family. A perfect weekend for more picnics, barbecues and patriotic kids activities.

So happy we are full swing into Summer! ~Susan @craftingafamily.com

On with this week’s features!

For every summer picnic, you always have a bunch of condiments that clutter up the table and never look nice. What a great idea from Live Craft Love to make your table beautiful.  BBQ Condiment Bar for Summer Parties.

Macaroni Salad is a picnic basic and I love the added creaminess of this Cheddar version. It looks amazing.  Kim from Cozi Nest has a roundup of 4 versions of Macaroni Salad.  The one featured here is from Jo-Anna at A Pretty Life.

You will fall in love with the Summer Patio Outdoor Beverage Cart and put this on your list of projects for next summer. The design from Jen at Clean & Scentsible will make any outdoor space a vacation.

There is nothing better than a casserole for your picnic. One dish that you can make ahead and reheat for your family get together. Check out Culinary Envy’s Pepperoni Pizza Chicken Bake recipe.

Note from Carol: Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that this is my last week to be hostess for our Happiness is Homemade Link Party 226. It’s been so much fun and also such a responsibility to choose our weekly features. I especially love getting to know other bloggers and what they are doing and creating. I hope that you do too. That’s one reason we encourage you to check out other guests’ posts and Pin them or Tweet them. And if you are not a blogger and just love visiting blog posts, please let those bloggers know by commenting on their posts. We all love comments!

Happiness is Homemade Link Party 226 Features of the Week

So let’s get started with some great features. I have a little DIY, a couple of recipes (beverage and dessert) and a beautiful garden to share.

I was intrigued when I saw the title to this post shared by Vineta of The Handyman’s Daughter: How to Apply Edge Banding to Plywood. I’ve done a few simple carpentry projects in my DIY life using plywood and there is always the issue of covering the raw edges. This tutorial gives you everything you need to know. I’ve Pinned it and if you thing you might ever need to make something with wood, so should you.

Disclosure: Lisa of  The Purple Hydrangea is a personal blogger friend of mine who lives about 1 hour away and we are part of a group of Texas bloggers who get together about 4 times a year for (exchange of blog ideas) lunch. But I didn’t realized this was Lisa’s post when I clicked on it. I just knew I loved the look of this farmhouse bench and I wanted to know how to make it. She shows you how to create a farmhouse finish on new wood and make it look like it had been sitting in grandma’s kitchen for decades. I happen to know that this picture is from Lisa’s booth at the McKinney Antique Mall, which is one of my favorites in the area.

I love galettes, which are France’s version of pie. Instead of dough carefully placed in a pie plate, galettes are more free~formed. This berry~filled galette created by Brandi of Home Cooking Memories is easy if you are pie shy. And it’s made for individual servings. Love that.

Summer is the time for sipping something cold and refreshing and this Rosé Sangria from Kit of  The Kittchen not only looks cold and refreshing, but it’s just so darn pretty. Love those glasses and straws. Drink, anyone?

Another Disclaimer: Carol of  The Red Painted Cottage is also a personal blogger friend. She’s from Michigan and we formally met 2 years ago at Haven Conference. As it turns out, her son lives about an hour away from Dallas and she was visiting a few weeks ago which called for a blogger lunch (Any excuse for lunch is a good one.) She mentioned that her peonies were blooming in Michigan and I lamented that mine were already done and gone. When I clicked on this party link, I discovered that this gorgeous peony was hers. I had to read about it. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love peonies so I hope you enjoy this post, too.
