Happy October. What a fun month! Welcome to Happiness is Homemade and we are more than ready for fall to happen. Not sure about where you are but, here in Ottawa, fall finally arrived. It is sweater weather!  And, that means soups and comfort food is back on the menu. This is my month.  I love hosting for October. All the other months my amazing co-hosts share their favs. This month, A Labour of Life gets to share her love of autumn and Canadian Thanksgiving, too!

Today, I celebrate the coziness of the season. So many treats to sip and savour. Come show us what you have been working on. Our blogging community has certainly changed over the years. At one point we had a dozen co-hosts, and we have the “fabulous three.”  This weekly party continues because of  you. Your creativity, recipes, DIY projects, crafts, travel stories, home inspiration, and seasonal ideas are what make Happiness is Homemade such a special place each week.

.

.

If you are a blogger and have ever thought about becoming a co-host, we’d love to hear from you. New faces and fresh ideas are always welcome. Now let’s celebrate another week of amazing inspiration! Thank you for stopping by, and I can’t wait to see what you’ve been creating. Be sure to link up your latest posts, visit a few others, and spread a little blogging love along the way.

Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board

This Thanksgiving Turkey Snack Board is the easiest way to wow your guests before the main meal even hits the table. It’s a classic charcuterie spread of deli meats, cheeses, crackers, fruit, and nuts, arranged in layers of “feathers” around a cute pear turkey. The best part – there is no cooking, no special skills needed, and it comes together in about 30 minutes. .

.

Crockpot Baked Bean Dip

Let’s talk about this Crockpot dip! Okay, it is amazing.  I love it because you can either serve it as a side dish with a meal OR as a dip for bread or crackers.  There are lots of way to make this but I like my way best.  When selecting vegetables and ingredients, I like to use as many fresh ones as I can. .

.

Pot Roast Soup

Pot Roast Soup is a delicious way to transform leftover pot roast into a hearty meal. This homemade soup combines tender chunks of beef with vegetables and potatoes in a rich, flavorful broth. It’s a comforting dish that’s perfect for cold days or when you’re craving something warm and satisfying. This recipe takes about an hour to make, with most of that time being hands-off simmering. It’s an excellent option for using up leftovers and creating a completely new meal. .

Apple Crisp Skillet Recipe

This apple crisp skillet recipe is two Granny Smith apples tossed in cinnamon, nutmeg and two kinds of sugar, topped with a toasted oat crumble and baked in a cast iron skillet until it bubbles. About 40 minutes start to finish, and it serves six. It is the apple crisp for when you want apple crisp tonight, not a project. .

Brown Transferware Decor Styling Perfect for Fall

Vintage brown transfer ware is beautiful to use anytime of year, but it’s especially perfect for Fall decor.  The brown transferware pieces have a timeless elegance and charm, which gives interior decor a rich and rustic feel all at the same time. .
