Welcome back to another great party, readers! So many great posts from last week’s link up – hopefully you were able to find some new projects, recipes or inspiration to keep you motivated.

My motivation has actually been kicked up a notch since the snow has started to fly here at my farmhouse. I’m determined to empty out the storage unit we rented when we moved last January. Only about 15 boxes left – mostly old baby clothes that need to be sorted and distributed to the various donation spots.

This Week’s Features!

All my gal pals know I am a sucker for a Little Red Truck – check out this craft tutorial I found to make your own Rustic Truck Ornament from the Country Chic Cottage for the upcoming holidays!

Sometimes when I’m checking out different blog posts, I love reading about neat places to visit. I remember visiting this town from my childhood and had to share it with you – check out the Tarpon Springs Cruise from Comfort Spring Station.

I am all about the farmhouse decor now that we live here at Starry Acres, and this includes my holiday decorations. I found this really cute DIY Custom Painted Christmas Tree Collar from the Red Painted Cottage – what a great way to hide my Walmart Christmas tree stand!

As a busy boy mom, I love having a special treat at the end of the day but I need it to be quick and easy. I’ll be trying this Pumpkin Nutella Microwave Mug Cake Recipe from Home Cooking Memories – I think this will fit the bill!

I saw this post from last week’s party and had to feature it – my boys LOVED to work with colored rice when they were younger. You can create such vibrant colors and they loved how it felt! Here’s the blog post for Preschool Colored Rice Activities from Ducks ‘n a Row for your own littles!

Welcome back to the Happiness is Homemade Link Party #228

I hope you had a great 4th of July if you are here in the USA. We had a lot of fun with our community’s annual Parade and Festival. With the holiday landing on a Wednesday, we here are all confused feeling like Thursday was another Monday. But it is so much fun to have another weekend after the 4th to spend with family. A perfect weekend for more picnics, barbecues and patriotic kids activities.

For every summer picnic, you always have a bunch of condiments that clutter up the table and never look nice. What a great idea from Live Craft Love to make your table beautiful. BBQ Condiment Bar for Summer Parties.

Macaroni Salad is a picnic basic and I love the added creaminess of this Cheddar version. It looks amazing. Kim from Cozi Nest has a roundup of 4 versions of Macaroni Salad. The one featured here is from Jo-Anna at A Pretty Life.

You all are so talented. Creating DIY projects, recipes, home decor and crafts of all sorts. I’ve selected a little bit of this and that for this week’s features. Hope you enjoy.

Have you ever bought a bag os marshmallows at the store and bring them home and they are stiff and stale when you open the bag? Not a good thing. But homemade marshmallows are like eating a cloud. Merissa of Little House Living shows us how to make the fluffiest homemade marshmallows. Yummy!

What is worse than untangling Christmas lights and then have them not work? Hanging multiple pieces of art and getting them straight and level. Or having pictures with double hooks. Really hate that one. Lindsay of Repurposed and Upcycle shows us 2 ways to hang pictures that will help you keep your stress level down and have a “picture~perfect” pretty group of art.

have you ever used moss to create a pretty decorative item for your home? I have, but I never thought of making a cake with it. see how Stacey of Poofing the Pillows did just that. What a creative idea to bake a flower~topped moss covered cake.

It’s always nice to welcome guests at your front door. But what about greeting them as they walk to the front door? Tammy of Patina and Paint shows us how to make this welcome garden sign to brighten your front sidewalk, porch or yard.

It’s time to start thinking about 4th of July decorations for our homes. Angie of The Country Chic Cottage shows us how to make this awesome 4th of July table runner. She also has an awesome video to teach us how to make the stencils.

Father’s Day is next Sunday, so I thought this sweet tray project from Janice and Susan (they’re twins) from 5 Minutes for Mom would be one that anyone could make in a day. It could be adapted for any occasion or for everyday use.

DIY Storage Solution Does Double Duty

I’m a Gemini (My birthday is this coming week!) and I love doing 2 things at once and things that serve 2 purposes. So I loved this storage and seating solution from Vineta at The Handyman’s Daughter. She give great, detailed instructions for this super cute farmhouse inspired bench.

Painted Pavers Give a Punch of Art to a Walkway

Do you have that side yard that gets neglected? I sure do and that’s why I fell in love with this project from my friend Joy at The Aspiring Home. I first met Joy last summer at Haven Conference and then this spring when we were both in the One Room Challenge, I saw her amazing backyard makeover ~ so much that it was one of my top 5 backyard favorites. I was so happy to see that she shared how to make these gorgeous pavers for her side yard. What a beautiful design.

Delicious Summer Key Lime Ribbon Cheesecake

Key Lime Pie aways reminds me of summer beach vacations in Destin, Florida when my kids were little. I think Key Lime Pie tastes so refreshing and just shouts summer. Try Jas’ version from All That’s Jas.

A Sunroom Makeover to Enjoy

I always love a good room makeover and this sunroom transformation from Jenna at Lantern Lane Designs. I would love to spend an afternoon relaxing in this lovely new space. This project just goes to show the transformative power of pillows, pillows and more pillows.
