Love a great bowl of chili? I do..any time of year! I prefer mine very thick and with lots of beans and ground beef.

This recipe is simple. Feel free to add a little here and there. That is what I do. Chili is not an exact science!
Homemade Chili Recipe
Ingredients
1 large chopped onion
1 large chopped green pepper
2 T cooking oil
2 T cooking oil
5 pounds 90% lean ground beef
2-3 cans hot chili beans
2-3 cans red kidney beans
1 large can crushed tomatoes
chili powder
salt
pepper
Directions
- Heat a large pot on the stove, medium heat, with the oil in it.
- Add green peppers and onions.
- Stir till softened a little bit.
- Add the raw ground beef.
- Stir occasionally while browning it.
- Season with chili powder, salt & pepper according to taste.
- Add drained kidney beans, chili beans (WITH their sauce), crushed tomatoes.
- Simmer.
- Ladle off excess liquid as you go.
Serve with toppings on the side.
Let everyone put on what they like!

Tortilla chips
