Are you living a life where you look into a lit screen for hours upon hours a day? Most of us are. For nearly all of us, the primary tool that we use for our jobs is a computer. And, now that many of us are working from home, we have added to that screen time online business meetings. Schooling has gone to virtual classrooms, as well. Whether it is cellphones or laptops or television sets, people are gazing at screens which emit blue light all day long!
So what is “blue light?”
Blue light is a component of visible light. It is the part of the spectrum in natural and artificial light that influences our bodies to keep us alert and awake in the daytime. As the sun goes down in the evening, the decrease in light helps our bodies to produce melatonin. Melatonin makes us relax and become sleepy. The process in our bodies that the daylight to nighttime cycle triggers is known as the circadian rhythm.

We need both daytime and nighttime to be healthy people. But with our abundance of technology, we are getting robbed of that transition to sleep by looking at our phones, television sets and computers well past sundown. Our bodies continuously get blue light and production of melatonin is suppressed as a result. In fact, even our daytime use of technology is giving us too much blue light.
So, what about getting a good night’s sleep? Some people take melatonin supplements to get sleepy but there is also another solution we can try: blue light filtering eye glasses. Then, as I browsed Amazon looking at blue light blocking glasses, I read a couple of testimonials by people – such as this top review – who purchased blue light glasses. Verified customers were saying that they noticed an improvement in their stamina as they worked long days online. Many were saying that they were sleeping better at night, too. So, I bought a set of three pairs of glasses for a very reasonable price. I have been using them now for about two months and I do notice an improvement in my ability to get to sleep at night. And, on days when I work for hours on my laptop, I don’t feel exhausted like I used to. Who knew that blocking blue light could do so much good? Not me! But I am so glad I found them.
So, I keep one pair of blue light blocking computer glasses in my bedroom, in case I want to use my cell phone or watch some TV before going to sleep. I store another pair conveniently near my laptop. I bring the third pair with me when I go to the office for work.

There are many combinations of styles to choose from, for some fashion variety. The set I bought includes one clear pair of glasses, one pink and one a brownish print. I love them.
My glasses came in a stylish giftbox. That was a nice surprise. I didn’t need a fancy box but if I were to give them to someone else as a gift, the pretty box makes it special! Here is a picture of them. The third, clear pair, was still inside the box when I took the photo:
